The Olympic Games opened to a spectacular ceremony in the magestic Bird's Nest Stadium, running through from August 8 to 24, 2008, in Beijing.
28 summer sports are competed over the coming weeks viewed by the largest audience in the world.
Approximately 10,500 athletes participate in the Games, with around 20,000 accredited media representatives bringing the Games around the world to you.
Already, the games have set a new standard through the magnificant achievements of the American Swimmer, Michael Phelps, Team USA.
Having won his 10th gold medal in total, he becomes the singlemost successful Olimpic gold medal winner in the history of the modern Olympic Games.
