Muhammad Ali | Cassius Clay (USA)

Muhammad Ali was born under the name of Cassius Marcellus Clay - January 17th, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Muhammad Ali had a profound impact throughout his professional career, becoming the first man to win the world championship 3 separate times.

He was equally impressive as an amateur.

He began his boxing career at Columbia Gym, Louisville under the direction of his then coach Fred Stoner.

At the age of 18, Cassius Clay (Ali) competed in the 1960 Rome Olympic Games, Italy winning the gold medal as a light-heavyweight.

He also won both the National Amateur Athletic Union Title (AAU), and the Golden Gloves championship title, before turning professional.
